Brunson is eliminated but Chan is still going strong!

Texas Holdem Poker The players left in the WSOP had a well earned rest yesterday but they are all back to work today. There was near 7500 entrants at the start of the tournament and by Saturday night the field was down to around 2,500.

The biggest name not to be resuming play today is poker legend Doyle Brunson. Even thou he is such a huge name in the world of poker his form of late has not been up to his usual standard and its not a huge surprise to see him go. However the winner in 1976 and 1977 received a huge cheer from his adoring fans as he was eliminated.

If you are a Brunson fan then make sure to follow him on twitter at @textdolly. He is a regular tweeter and I would highly recommend following him.

The big names to look out for who are still in contention is the two time main event champion Johnny Chan along with recent champion Joe Cada and Eric Buchman.

The poker tournament will continue till this weekend where the field will be whittled down to the last nine players. There will then be a break till November where the players will return and fight it out for one of the most sought after prizes in poker.

It’s looking like a tight finish so keep up to date with all the twists and turns as they happen by following us on Twitter.
